Podcast booking agency

The podcast booking agency built for authors

Author Talking is a podcast booking agency that works only with nonfiction authors. Our podcast booking service researches shows whose listeners match your readers, pitches each host personally, and schedules interviews so they air while your book is easy to buy.
  • Pay per confirmed interview
  • You approve every show
  • No long contracts

The short answer

What does a podcast booking agency do?

A podcast booking agency gets you interviewed as a guest on other people's podcasts. It finds suitable shows, writes and sends pitches, follows up, handles scheduling, and prepares you for each recording.

Most agencies serve founders, coaches and executives. We focus on one kind of client, the nonfiction author, so the whole podcast guest booking service is planned around your publication date rather than a generic monthly quota.

What we do

Why authors choose a specialist podcast booking service

Booking a founder and booking an author are different jobs. An author's interviews need to land in a window, point to one product, and suit hosts who like book guests.

  1. Shows chosen for readers, not reach

We match shows to the person who buys your book. A focused audience usually converts better than a big, general one.

  2. Timed to your launch

We work back from your publication date so interviews record early and episodes go live during pre-order and launch weeks.

  3. Personal pitches only

Every pitch is written for one host after listening to the show. No mail merges with your name swapped in.

  4. A one-sheet hosts actually read

A designed author one-sheet with your bio, the book, talking points and sample questions, so hosts can say yes quickly.

  5. Scheduling handled

Calendar invites, time zones, recording links and tech checks are all on us. You just turn up prepared.

  6. Every pitch in your report

You see each show we pitched, every reply and every booking, including the shows that said no.

How it works

How our podcast guest booking works

  1. 01

    Positioning call

We find the angles hosts will want and the reader you're really trying to reach.

  2. 02

    Show list you approve

About 40 researched shows, each checked for recent episodes and guest interviews.

  3. 03

    Pitch and follow up

Personal pitches and two polite follow-ups per show, spaced over several weeks.

  4. 04

    Prep and record

A one-page brief before each interview, then links and clips when it airs.

Fit

Is a podcast booking agency worth it for your book?

A great fit if…

  • You've written nonfiction with a clear, useful idea
  • Your launch is 6+ weeks away, or you have a new push coming
  • You'd rather spend your hours writing and preparing than pitching
  • You can do two to four interviews a week around launch

Probably not right if…

  • Fiction, poetry or children's books
  • You want guaranteed downloads or sales numbers
  • You'd enjoy doing the outreach yourself and have the time

We'd rather say no than sell a tour that won't work.

Book a call
01How much does a podcast booking agency cost?

Agencies commonly charge from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a month. Our podcast booking service starts at $290 per confirmed interview plus a $290 setup, or $1,190 a month for a three-month Launch Tour.

02Do you guarantee podcast bookings?

No. Hosts make their own decisions, and anyone guaranteeing bookings is usually selling pay-to-play shows. We commit to the research, pitching and follow-up, and on Pay Per Interview you only pay when a host confirms.

03Will you book me on pay-to-play podcasts?

No. We don't pitch shows that charge guests to appear, and we'll tell you if a host asks for a fee so you can decide for yourself.

04How many interviews can I expect?

It depends on your topic, credentials and timing. Our Launch Tour targets four confirmed interviews a month, and we tell you on the first call if we think your book will fall short of that.
