Where do you go from F1, especially after nabbing two world championships at that? A 2023 Honda CR-V it seems, but not any ordinary one moms might drive.
Max Verstappen got behind the wheel of the Honda Performance Development’s (HPD) ‘The Beast’, a CR-V that’s running on the same hybrid powertrain as the low-slung Indycar racers. This means a 2.2-litre twin-turbocharged electrified Honda V6 unit and transmission lifted straight from Indycar racers.

The front end of it is from the Acura NSX GT-3, bringing with it big brakes to go with its race-spec suspension. The back is pure Indycar – besides the powertrain, ‘The Beast’ has adapted the rear suspension from a Dallara Indycar.
Cherry on top? It’s eco-conscious fun, as it runs on 100% renewable race fuel.
