Updated 2023 Nissan Leaf heading to Malaysia; design tweaks, finally Android Auto/Apple CarPlay too?

The updated 2023 Nissan Leaf EV will soon be upon us in Malaysia, as shared in a cheeky Valentine’s Day post by Nissan themselves.

As far as nip and tucks go, those on the new Leaf are pretty minor. Recall that the Leaf was updated for overseas markets last year, with the main changes being Nissan’s latest logo on the front and rear fascia to go with its new wheels and fresh colours.

Mostly the same, save for wheels and logo

The general exterior design and its interior remains quite the same, and so does its features.

Performance figures elsewhere remain the same as the pre-facelift model, so it’s fair to expect the same for Malaysia. The Nissan Leaf as sold here today is equipped with a 40 kWh battery; good for 311 km of range (NEDC).

It comes with 6.6 kW Type 1 AC charging, and 50 kW CHAdeMO DC charging. Though the full range of updates don’t outline it just yet, we hope to get a Type 2 port – simply because there’s more of them around.

Leafs sold overseas get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

As it is today, the pre-facelift Nissan Leaf is still available as a subscription-only product. With prices starting from RM 175,800, users need to pay a monthly subscription fee of RM 2,300.
