Specifics of the Triund Trek:

Triund is the trek near McleodGanj which is near Dharamshala which is the highest cricket stadium. Mainly from McleodGanj the Trek of Triund starts. From Dharamshala to McleodGanj it is about 10 km approximately. Then from McleodGanj to go to Triund there would be two routes. From Triund you can clearly see the Dhauladhar mountain ranges. First route to reach Triund is through the city Dharamshala on the way through Bhagsunag waterfalls. Bhagsunag waterfalls is also a separate attraction of McleodGanj and from there one can reach Triund.

On this way to Triund there is Shiva Cafe. The next route that comes here is the Dharamkot route. The main market is in McleodGanj and then the turning point is from Dharamkot. You can stay in Dharamkot and then from there you can visit Gallu Devi Temple. The roads are quite easy to climb up from Dharamkot route compared to that of the McleodGanj one which is from Bhagsunag Waterfalls.

Exploring the Routes and Logistics of the Triund Trek

The distance of the following two routes of the Triund trek are approximately similar. The timings with the distances of both the treks can be different because the Bhagsunag waterfalls route is quite steep and hard to climb so it will take more time as compared to Dharamkot ones. You can climb through the Dharamkot route and go down through the Bhagsunag waterfalls route that would be perfect, also you can enjoy the Bhagsunag waterfalls while going down. The trek is a minimum of 4 to 5 hours of climbing.

You can park your companions down but if you take the route of Bhagsunag waterfalls one then you need to park the car or bike to your hotel only as there is no parking lot, and if you take the route of Dharamkot one you can park down the starting point of the trek and the parking fee is also quite affordable. Then next comes the staying part. You need to take the tents which would be 1000 or 1200 per person. The camping site is near Bhagsunag waterfalls so you need to climb through Dharamkot to Triund then while coming down there is a campsite.

Food and Accommodation Considerations for the Triund Trek

Camping is not allowed at Triund point and there are no other campsites while trekking through the route of Dharamkot to Triund. The forest department has completely forbidden camping in Triund. But one thing you can camp there at Triund after sunset as there would not be such problems after sunset. But we all know that we need to carry food and water on such long treks. So there is no problem with food because at rupees 200 per person you get unlimited food over there for that you need to talk to any campsite organiser or something like that. But there is a problem with water as the market price of water over there is 50 rupees and that is compared with 20 rupees bottle in other places.

The climate remains foggy in the afternoon while you can enjoy the beautiful scenario among the clouds and beautiful breathtaking views of the Himalayas. All seasons are good for this Triund trek except that of rainy season because the climate here at rainy season keeps fluctuating and it is never constant and so one must find the Triund trek difficult so you must visit in other seasons for experiencing a peaceful and emergent climate with the fragrance view of the clear and beautiful sky and pure natural air.
