Toyotas and pick-up trucks dominate longest-lasting car studies; top ranked cars have 49% chance to reach 400k km!

If you want a long-lasting car, then a Toyota or an American pick-up truck is your best bet, according to industry research website iSeecars.com.

Now in its tenth year, their annual ‘Longest-Lasting Cars’ study analysed over 260 million cars sold between 2012 and 2022 to determine which cars were most likely to survive very high mileages.

The study found that pick-up trucks dominate the list, with 10 of the 23 longest-lasting vehicles made up by them, and Toyota makes plenty of reliable cars, with 8 models in the top 23 list.

In that same list, only three SUVs make it: the Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Sequoia, and the Honda Pilot. If you’d like a passenger car to do the same, then look towards the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, or the Toyota Avalon.

“The cost of new and used cars has never been higher, which means a long vehicle lifespan has never been more appealing to buyers on a budget,” said iSeeCars.com Executive Analyst Karl Brauer.
