Modern transportation
The new vehicle will be part of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).
This program started in 2017 under Department Order No. 2017-011 or the Omnibus Guidelines on the Planning and Identification of Public Road Transportation Services and Franchise Issuance.
The program aims to kick-start the country’s public transport to align it with global standards. It also aims to provide Filipinos with a transport system that is safe, reliable, convenient, and environmentally sustainable.
The program has also implemented a standard for these new modern PUVs, which the Isuzu Class 2 PUV meets. All modern PUVs must have at least a Euro-4 engine and meet the Philippine National Standard (PNS) for those with hybrid, electric, or LPG power units.
These vehicles also must have a GPS unit, an automated fare collection system, and a CCTV camera.
Safe, Secure, and Comfortable
The new Isuzu PUV integrates the needs of the passengers and the driver with its unique body design.
The vehicle has two side doors for the driver and front passengers, similar in layout to traditional jeepneys. The vehicle’s design also meets the PNS guidelines for Class 2 PUVs.
Comfort is also a high priority for the new Isuzu vehicle, as it has redesigned panoramic windows, cushioned seats, and luggage compartments designed for passengers’ convenience.
Regarding technology, the Class 2 PUV is equipped with a GPS unit, an automated payment system, a built-in monitor, and digital signboards that can be used to indicate its route or next stop.
Isuzu has yet to reveal the powerplant of the Class 2 PUV. However, it will likely have the 4JH1-TC turbocharged 3.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine found in its other PUV offerings.
The engine produces 105 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Aftersales support
Aside from offering comfort and convenience with its new PUV, IPC also offers owners, operators, and transport cooperatives the support they need to keep their vehicles in top condition.
The Japanese brand has parts nationwide and 48 outlets to service these vehicles, including light and heavy-duty trucks, reducing the risk of extended downtime.
Isuzu assures its customers, especially transport cooperatives, that purchasing any of its vehicles starts a long-term partnership to help you maximize your Isuzu PUV.
