The best way to Prepare a Vegan Portobello Mushroom Burger

In Italian, Delve deeper (Covingtonreporter.com) Portobellos are defined as “capellones,” meaning “big hats.” Portobellos are actually older Crimini mushrooms (they’re aproximatelly 3 5 days older compared to Criminis). They’ve a good deal of vitamins (including potassium and Vitamin B), antioxidants and minerals (including selenium). They’re also quite full of fiber and lacking in fat. While most other foods lose several of the antioxidants of theirs after being cooked, Portobellos hold on to their antioxidants while after being cooked. This recipe is for a great Roasted Portobello Mushroom Burger.

Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Location the Portobello mushrooms on a baking sheet and clean them on both sides with a blend of 2 Tablespoons of olive oil and one Tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, then sprinkle with a touch of salt and pepper. Roast in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

Even though the mushrooms are roasting, incorporate 4 Tablespoons of coconut oil, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper, ½ teaspoon of salt and an 1/8 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Whisk until mixed and then put aside. You are going to brush this mixture on your bread or bun when you are ready to serve.

Finally, it’s time to pull in the Tomato Basil Dressing. In a food processor, place all the following ingredients: 3 ripe medium tomatoes, chopped; 2 Tablespoons of red wine vinegar; one Tablespoon of real orange juice; 4 cloves of crushed garlic; 4 Tablespoons of fresh basil, chopped; ¼ teaspoon of sea salt; and an 1/8 teaspoon of ground pepper. Today blend all these ingredients until smooth. In case you’re not using it straight away, set in the refrigerator until ready to offer.

When the Portobelllo mushrooms are done roasting, bring them out of the oven. You can serve this on any type of bread, including hamburger buns, whole grain rolls, rustic loaves, whatever the preference of yours. Take two slices of bread or 2 halves of a bun, brush them with the olive oil mixture. After that put a tablespoonful of the Tomato Basil Dressing on the top piece of bread. Place a mushroom on the bottom piece of bread. Top the mushroom with lettuce, tomato slices, onion, or whatever you like on the burgers of yours.

A variation of this particular recipe includes roasting Red Peppers along with the Portobello Mushrooms, and putting the roasted peppers in addition to the mushroom in the sandwich. You could also substitute other roasted vegetables and/or a piece of the favorite kind of yours of cheese.
