For those who do not know, Omoda and Jaecoo are Chery‘s sub-brands specializing in EV technology.

“Today, global automotive development has entered the fourth window of opportunity in history — a new era of full-scale advancement towards intelligent and new energy technology products,”  said Chery International general manager Zhang Guibing.

Chery states that these new brands will aim at the new personalized user groups of young elites who want a vehicle that meets their needs for transportation and much more.

The Omoda brand was created with the new generation of the new urban middle class in mind, which pursues fashion and independence, trend and personalization.

Meanwhile, the Jaceoo brand is positioned as an urban, off-road sport-utility vehicle designed explicitly for urban elites with extraordinary style.

The company said it fully satisfies the travel needs of users “with exquisite taste and outdoor exploration.”

An Omoda 5 has already been spotted being transported on a trailer, while Jaecoo is still finalizing who its dealer principals will be once it enters the local market.

Chinese cars have evolved past their previous stereotypes of copycats of other brands. These vehicles showcase that China can catch up to the global market and will soon be a dominant force in the automotive scene.
