New 2023 Renault Zoe launched in Malaysia – First shipment sold out, from RM 165k, 395 km, 50 kW DC charging

TC Euro Cars (TCEC) has launched the new 2023 Renault Zoe. Prices of the fully electric B-segment hatchback start from RM 165,000 for the entry R110 variant, and RM 179,000 for the more powerful R135 variant.

Both variants are powered by the same 52 kWh battery, but with different motor output. The battery pack is still air-cooled, as before, but the first generation Zoe has proven that the simple cooling system holds up well even in our hot and humid climate.

Specs for 2023 Renault Zoe
  R110 R135
Batt capacity 52 kWh
Power 110 PS 135 PS
Torque 225 Nm 245 Nm
Range (WLTP) 396 km 386 km

The new 2023 Renault Zoe now supports DC fast charging of up to 50 kW, via a CCS2 port. Charging from 10 to 80 percent can be completed in 70 minutes.

Regular AC charging is up to 22 kW, which is rare for an EV from this segment. Charging from 0 to 100 percent can be done in just 3 hours, when equipped with a suitably powerful wall box (EVSE) of course.

To that end, TC Euro Cars also offers customers the option of buying a VESTEL 22 kW wall box charger for RM 6,950. It also offers a regular VESTEL 7 kW wall box charger for RM 6,250, so yes obviously the company wants you to take the 22 kW unit. The cost is inclusive of 15 metres of cabling.

For travelling, a 22 kW Type 2 cable is included in the car, but not the portable charger, so you can’t granny-charge from a 3-pin plug, which is not recommended anyway unless it’s an emergency.

TCEC says the first shipment of the new Renault Zoe has been fully taken up. Customers who place their bookings to purchase or subscribe for the next shipment can expect to receive their new Zoe in June or July 2023.

Like all Renault cars, subscription contracts are also available, starting from a fixed rate of RM 2,799 per month for 3 years for the R110, and RM 2,999 for the R135. Fees include insurance and regular servicing.
