Move over, Yamaha NMAX: QCPD acquires 150 Suzuki Burgman Street units for patrol and response personnel

For a while now, it has been my understanding that the Yamaha NMAX was the favorite scooter of men and women in uniform.

Though recently, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) acquired 150 units of the Suzuki Burgman Street to beef up its patrol and response capabilities. It looks like there’s a new favorite scooter in town.

The Suzuki Burgman Street offers a blend of sophisticated design, comfort, and practicality at an affordable price of ₱ 82,400.

Its 125 cc air-cooled engine also has a Suzuki Eco Performance fuel injection system, giving the scooter a power boost and a 53.5km/L fuel economy.

It also has a 21-liter under-seat storage capacity. These qualities make Burgman Street the perfect tool for QCPD operatives’ daily urban patrol duties.

The units were acquired in partnership with TransCycle, one of the country’s fastest-growing motorcycle dealers. The turnover ceremonies of these mobility assets were held at QCPD headquarters in Camp Karingal, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.

Present during the event was QCPD district logistics department chief, Lt. Col. Enrico E. Figueroa, who expressed his thanks to the ranking city and police officials for giving them additional vehicles to go about with their mission of protecting and keeping the peace and safety of the public.

To further beef up the Suzuki Burgman Street’s capabilities, the units were fitted with crash guards, warning lights, and other accessories to make them more suitable for police service.

Lt. Col. Enrico E. Figueroa test-rode the Burgman Street and affirmed his approval of the acceleration and comfort of their new motorcycles. He also added that he liked the spacious under-seat compartment, allowing them to stock up on all life-saving devices and crime-fighting tools comfortably.

Aside from these features, both police officers were thrilled that getting these scooters serviced or maintained would be easy, as Suzuki provides efficient after-sales support.

Do you think the Suzuki Burgman Street is up to the task of crime fighting in QC?
