Pengurangan pelepasan gas rumah hijau daripada penggunaan kenderaan boleh dicapai melalui gabungan teknologi, dasar, dan strategi. Melalui pendekatan ini, Perodua tidak mahu mengehadkan cara untuk mencapai neutral karbon dan pameran model konsep Perodua EM-O turut menunjukkan niat syarikat itu.
“EV adalah salah satu pilihan kami pada masa akan datang, tetapi pada masa yang sama, hibrid akan berada dalam barisan produk kami.” jelas Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Perodua Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad di Malaysia Autoshow 2023.
“Paling penting, apa yang kami mahu lakukan ialah pembangunan dan strategi kami sejajar dengan keperluan kerajaan, dan Dasar Automotif Nasional (NAP).
“Kami mahu bekerjasama dengan kerajaan, membangunkan produk yang selaras dengan undang-undang. Tidak semestinya hanya EV, mungkin ada hibrid, kita juga akan meneruskan ICE (enjin pembakaran dalaman), tetapi dengan prestasi yang lebih baik,” katanya.
“Lebih penting lagi – sasaran mesti ke arah neutral karbon yang lebih baik. Bagi saya tidak kira apa – EV, ICE, hibrid – kita mesti pastikan kita memenuhi kesemua keperluan neutral karbon,” ulas beliau.

Pelan jangka panjang Perodua
Perodua telah mendedahkan bahawa mereka menjangkakan pertumbuhan pesat dalam jualan hibrid dalam dekad akan datang, di samping permintaan untuk kenderaan pembakaran dalaman konvensional mula menurun apabila kehadiran xEV (kenderaan tenaga baharu) meningkat.
Perodua juga berkongsi bahawa kerajaan Malaysia telah meminta pengeluar tempatan untuk menyokong matlamat kerajaan supaya kenderaan elektrik (termasuk HEV atau hibrid) menyumbang 9 peratus daripada jumlah jualan kereta baharu di Malaysia menjelang 2025, meningkat kepada 15 peratus menjelang 2030.
Tahun 2024 juga bakal menyaksikan model hibrid keluaran tempatan pertama Perodua diperkenalkan, dan ini bukanlah Perodua Ativa Hybrid. Berdasarkan maklumat yang didedahkan, lebih berkemungkinan bahawa model hibrid tersebut adalah Perodua Bezza serba baharu.
Perlu diingatkan juga bahawa sasaran kecekapan bahan api purata korporat (CAFE) juga telah diumumkan untuk pengeluar kereta nasional. Walaupun perincian, susur masa, dan pengumuman rasmi oleh kerajaan masih belum dibuat, Perodua berkata ia telah diberi sasaran 4.2 liter/100 km, yang seterusnya mempercepatkan permintaan untuk rangkaian kuasa elektrik.
