Untuk memajukan industri automotif mereka, Indonesia dan Jepun meningkatkan kerjasama mereka dalam pengeluaran kenderaan elektrik (EV), bahan api neutral karbon dan biofuel.
Usaha itu juga selaras dengan matlamat kerajaan untuk mengurangkan pelepasan gas rumah hijau sebanyak kira-kira 32 peratus menjelang 2030, kata Kementerian Industri Indonesia dalam satu kenyataan.
“Sebagai antara negara terbaik dalam industri automotif dunia, kami percaya kerjasama dengan Jepun dapat menyokong usaha kami ke arah mencapai neutral karbon,” kata pengarah elektronik dan jentera kementerian itu Taufiek Bawazier.
Taufiek memberikan ringkasan sektor automotif negara, objektif pembangunan EV, dan perniagaan bateri semasa Dialog Automotif Indonesia-Jepun yang paling baru-baru ini yang diadakan di Jakarta.
Perbincangan itu turut dihadiri wakil Kementerian Ekonomi, Perdagangan dan Industri Jepun (METI) dan pembuat kereta Jepun.

Dalam pada itu, “strategi pelbagai laluan” untuk mencapai “pelepasan karbon sifar” di Indonesia telah dicadangkan oleh Enomoto Masato, Pengerusi Kumpulan Pakar Asia Persatuan Pengilang Automobil Jepun.

Menurut angka Persekutuan Automotif Asean (AAF), Indonesia menjual 1,048,000 unit kenderaan pada 2022 berbanding 887,202 pada 2021.
Dari segi pengeluaran automotif, negara jiran itu mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 31%, daripada 1,121,967 unit pada tahun 2021 kepada 1,470,146 unit pada tahun 2022.
