How are Local Area Coordinator and Support Coordinator Different?

A National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Local Area Coordinator differs from a Support Coordinator in many aspects, although their roles might seem similar.

Local Area Coordinator (LAC)

A Local Area Coordinator works with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to plan meetings for linking NDIS participants to the NDIS.

Support Coordinator (SC)

An NDIS Support Coordinator assists only those participants who have approval for these services in their NDIS plans.
