HARI grows sales in 2022 for Hyundai buses, modern PUVs

Hyundai commercial vehicles posted a 10-percent sales growth for its buses in 2022 compared to the previous year.

Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of the Korean brand’s commercial vehicles in the Philippines, said in a February 2023 press statement that its County and Universe models drove the higher figures.

The company released more than 250 units of its modern public-utility vehicles (PUV) last year, including 31 vehicles in Baguio City based on the Hyundai HD50S.

“HARI attributes the growth in said segments to the country’s massive return to commuting and inter-regional travel,” the carmaker said.

HARI added that it has high expectations with the recent launch of the Hyundai County New Breeze.

“Hyundai’s best-selling shuttle for corporate, tourism, and school services has undergone important upgrades, particularly in seating capacity and safety, and is primed for more comfortable journeys for passengers as well as drivers,” it said.

HARI said it is also expecting high sales of the four-wheeler Hyundai HD45 GT, which offers up to 18 feet of cargo space while being exempt from the regular Metro Manila truck ban.

On July 2022, Hyundai Motor Philippines took over the Korean brand’s passenger-car operations from Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc., which Maria Fe Perez-Agudo headed.

HARI retains control of Hyundai’s local commercial vehicle operations, still under Perez-Agudo.

Will we see more Hyundai trucks, buses, and modern PUVs on our roads this year?
