一般上在做撞击测试时，汽车制造商通常会在实验室中进行车辆的撞击测试，毕竟属于受控环境，不涉及与不同尺寸的其他车辆的碰撞。
但 GAC 为了展示 Trumpchi M8 MPV 安全系数，对该车型进行一项非常不寻常的撞击测试，测试涉及两辆卡车。
在这项撞击测试中，GAC 让 Trumpchi M8 承受一次撞击测试，其中一辆重达8.6吨卡车撞击 Trumpchi M8 ，随后将 Trumpchi M8 推向另一辆卡车的车尾。

至于最终测试结果如预期一样，Trumpchi M8 前后都在测试过程中受到撞击，但关键是Trumpchi M8 乘客舱仍然完好无损。此外，A柱，B柱和车门门槛经受住撞击测试，从视频中可以看出，在撞击后电动滑动门依然可以成功打开，没有出现太大的问题。

GAC 通过使用 CBS（复合车身解决方案）复合材料来构建 M8，才实现这样的成果。该材质也整合金属车身部件，热塑性复合材料支撑件，和增强车身结构的可膨胀粘合剂。
毋庸置疑，这对 GAC 来说是一次巨大的宣传，因为 MPV 一般会优先考虑空间，从而减少可吸收冲击区域。但通过这次撞击测试，表明 GAC 将乘客安全放在首位。
