1.5L e:HEV 动力系统于2020年首次在大马市场上推出，搭载于 City车型。这是一个重要的发布，因为它也是 RS e:HEV 车型的全球首发。大马 Honda 随后在2022年将这套1.5L e:HEV 动力系统引入至 City Hatchback 和HR-V 车型。
自三款 e:HEV 车型发布以来，大马 Honda 已售出 2800多辆City，1600多辆 City Hatchback和 2600多辆HR-V。2022年11月，大马 Honda 为 Civic车型上提供先进 2.0L e:HEV 动力系统。
这款车型进一步提升了C-Segment 车型水平，具备最先进的混合油电技术和功能。截至目前，大马 Honda已售出近600辆 Civic e:HEV。
大马 Honda 的董事总经理兼首席执行官 Hironobu Yoshimura 先生表示：“19年前，大马 Honda 为 Civic Hybrid 车型引入综合电机辅助（IMA）技术，成为引领混合油电技术在大马推广的先驱者。”
他补充说：“对IMA技术的反应非常积极，我们随后在2017年在 City 和 Jazz 混合动力车型中推出 Sport Hybrid i-DCD技术，这些车型性价比高，驾驶乐趣十足，性能出众，迎合大众市场的需求。这有效改变大马人对混合油电车的看法。”
目前，Honda 在研究和开发电动汽车，燃料电池汽车和混合油电汽车的电动系统拥有超过30年经验。这是因为 Honda 终极目标是实现碳中和，而提供电动和混合油电系统被视为这一目标的重要环节。
