Seong Hoe Premium Motors extends electrification initiatives to Malacca with new MINI charging facility

BMW Group Malaysia’s longest-serving dealer in Malacca has just unveiled a new EV charging facility with MINI branding. The charger by Seong Hoe Premium Motors is located in Kota Syahbandar, just 2 kilometres from the iconic Jonker Street.

Being a key tourist centre, the charger will serve the historical city’s rising demand for EV infrastructure and support the needs of tourists from out of state.

You can find the charger at the main entrance of Bank of China on Jalan KSB 1, Taman Kota Syahbandar. There are 4 parking lots with 2 Stellar40 40 kW DC chargers as well as 2 Nexus 22kW AC chargers that’re powered by ChargeSini.

The former Stellar40 can channel all 40 kW to one vehicle and splits it to 20 + 20 kW if both chargers are in use.

Charges will see a minimum fee of RM 5 upon booking confirmation followed by RM 1.20 per kWh or RM 0.80 per minute. On the other hand, the AC charger rates start from RM 0.07 per minute at 3.7 kw to RM 0.40 per minute at 22 kW.

“Through this venture with Seong Hoe Premium Motors, ChargeSini is proud to be part of BMW Group Malaysia’s EV charging network expansion efforts. We’re also confident that both our Stellar40 DC and Nexus AC chargers in Malacca will further promote EV adoption in this historic state. We also look forward to pursue more partnerships as such with BMW Group Malaysia and its dealer network,” said James Goh, Founder and CEO of ChargeSini.

The MINI-branded charging facility is the latest addition to the over 1,000 charging facilities under BMW Group Malaysia’s network. Most authorised BMW i and MINI dealers also carry charging facilities at their dealerships.
