When you are flying in a plane

Hypobaric training is a method used to increase the body’s ability to adapt to low pressure and high pressure. As we know, low pressure is when the air pressure drops, and high pressure is when it is too low.

When you are flying in a plane, you are at a higher altitude than the air pressure outside of the plane. If the pressure inside the plane stays the same, the air pressure outside of the plane must drop so that the air pressure is the same as that inside the plane.

This is called “barometric pressure.” For example, if the Hyperbaric Training Courses air pressure is 10 pounds per square inch inside the plane, then the air pressure outside of the plane must be 9 pounds per square inch to equal that air pressure inside the plane.

To compensate for this decrease in air pressure, the plane needs to descend to a lower altitude. Similarly, when you are at a higher altitude than the air pressure outside, the air pressure must drop so that the air pressure inside and outside of the plane is the same. Again, the plane must descend to a lower altitude to compensate for this decrease in air pressure. This type of descent is called “hypobaric training.
