Cycle & Carriage continues to help underprivileged youths pursue automotive dreams

Cycle & Carriage continues to support the underprivileged youth in the automotive industry with its Cycle & Carriage Study Grant 2022. This year, four deserving individuals were awarded financial aid and industry experience placement during the ceremony held at Cycle & Carriage Mutiara Damansara. 

The Cycle & Carriage Study Grant is part of the company’s long term corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts toward the development of the underprivileged community and economic growth of the local automotive scene.

Selected recipients will receive financial support to complete their education, followed by placements in Cycle & Carriage to gain industry experience upon graduation.

This year saw the Cycle & Carriage Study Grant being awarded to Yaduveer A/L M Ratnavelu, 19, and Tan Jia Jian, 19, both pursuing their automotive education at Despark International College, as well as Kok Yong Hong, 20, and Choong Gi Yuan, 19, who are pursuing automotive education at Young & Aces University.

“I feel very excited and fortunate to be given this opportunity by Cycle & Carriage to further pursue my interest in automobiles. I want to learn more and be equipped with skills to solve any problems, and I am confident that my on-the-job experience at Cycle & Carriage will be a good opportunity for me to learn from their expert technicians,” said award recipient Jia Jian.

“I feel extremely happy and honoured to be accepting this study grant because I can help lessen my parents’ financial burden while working with an automotive brand that I love. Thanks to Cycle & Carriage, I will be able to acquire the necessary skills and gain hands-on experience through a reputable automotive program.

“By pursuing my ambition of becoming an automotive engineer, I hope to contribute to the development of new innovations in the automotive industry, design safer and more efficient vehicles, and help reduce the environmental impact of transportation,” said Yaduveer from Despark International College.

The Cycle & Carriage Study Grant 2022 is a programme that was designed to help students from the B40 group or single household incomes who are keen to pursue or are already pursuing automotive studies. This grant includes a bursary of RM5,000 per annum for a maximum of 3 years and a year-long position in C&C upon completion of their studies.

Applicants of the Cycle & Carriage Study Grant must be Malaysians and of ages 16 years and above who are enrolled in an automotive training institution accredited by the Department for Skills Development (DSD) of the Ministry of Human Resources or Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
