From Vision to Impact: How a Band is Empowering Wounded Warriors

People have known from early generations the value of music especially in healing, interacting and expressing oneself. More recently, programs based on music have been recognized as catalysts for change among the veterans, especially warriors in recovery from their injuries on the battle field. Based on the research done by the National Endowment for the arts, participation in arts that include music has del been proven to have an influential on health, quality of life and rebound among the Veterans. Another interesting effort in this area is a band named Warrior Sprit Band that is involved with helping injured soldiers primarily, but by so doing using music to rehabilitate these service people and at the same help them create fellowship.

Music Therapy In Support of Injured Soldiers And Military Veterans

This music study shows that it has peculiar characteristics that can be used in the handling of trauma and the Recovery process. Unlike other therapies, music offers not only working of the mind but also of spirit as it acts therapeutically by letting patients off-load and regain their inner being. How the Band Was Founded: Turning Vision into Reality

The story of this particular band began with purpose – with a noble goal of assisting the wounded warriors to get their voice back and to build new supportive fellowship with other individuals who experienced similar to them through music. It was started by veterans, musicians and mental health supporters with the aim of filling the gap of organisations that could help veteran musicians suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), physical injuries or struggles with reintegration into civilian life.
