More and more brands that have electric vehicles (EV) are beginning to reprice their cars thanks to the implementation of Executive Order (E.O.) No. 12.

E.O. 12 temporarily reduces the import duties on EVs, parts and components until 2028.

Mainstream brands like Nissan have already begun to lower their prices. The Nissan LEAF was formerly priced at ₱2.7 million and has now come down to ₱1,998,000.

Another brand, Weltmeister, has also adjusted the price of its EV crossover.

The Weltmeister W5 was initially priced at ₱2,548,000, but with the E.O.12 in play, it has now dropped to ₱2,248,000. It also now has a battery warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km while retaining its 5-year or 150,000km for the car itself.

The W5 is still powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 217 PS and 315 Nm of torque.

It also carries a 52-kWh, lithium-ion battery pack that can give you around 400 km of driving range on one full charge.

The Weltmiester crossover comes with Level 1 and Level 2 capabilities for charging options. It means charging via a 220-volt outlet or a charging station supporting a GB/T plug.

You can also charge the W5 with a WM home charger the brand installs for you with the vehicle purchase.

Aside from this, the Weltmeister W5 carries a futuristic cabin with a spacious interior and sporty seats for a driver-centric layout. It also has a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 15.6-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system.

As standard, the EV has a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera and an N95 cabin air filtration system.
