Heating

As part of the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning program at Waubonsee, students participate in a broad, hands-on program that includes labs to assist them in understanding the way in which lecture material is used in real-world situations. The students also take elective classes such as industrial controls and electrical wiring in order to gain the necessary skills for working with their own equipment.
Students who complete the two-year Associate Degree program in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, or any of the professional certifications, are qualified to be installers technicians, building maintenance craftsmen, etc. They can further their studies by pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the field.
Although most people believe the term HVAC stands for only “air conditioner,” it is actually a comprehensive system that monitors and controls conditions such humidity, temperature, air quality and the supply of fresh air from outside to regulate carbon dioxide and oxygen levels. HVAC works best when all of these elements work together. Ventilation
