In Red Dead Online, your honor is a big part of who you are, and you can raise or lower it.
In the Old West, people who didn’t have honor were feared, and people who did had honor were admired. It makes sense that the honor system from Red Dead Redemption 2 has made its way back to Red Dead Online. In the past, a criminal was only as good as their word.
The types of projects you’re given depend on your honor. Scumbags are given jobs like murder and theft, while white knights are given more honorable tasks. When your honor goes down, people will get madder at you, and stores will probably raise their prices as a way of taxing all the people they think you’ve robbed or killed.
Look After Your Horse
If you want to be good at Red Dead Online, you’ll have to take good care of your horse because you’ll be on it a lot. After all, a criminal is useless without their beloved horse.
Your honor will go up a little when you brush, feed, and calm your horse. You might not get more honor right away, but it will add up over time.
Don’t forget to get a brush and always take care of your horse. Nice thing about these little boosts is that you’ll get them just by playing normally. This means that your honor will go up without you even realizing it.
Revive Sedated Animals
People who have unlocked the Naturalist Role can use this method, which is a quick and easy way to get money and honor. You can get samples from animals by putting them to sleep with your varmit gun. You can then sell these samples for money at different stores.
Put some of that money back into animal reviver, and every time you wake up one of those animals after taking some of their blood, you’ll get a nice honor boost. But be careful when you bring animals back to life; they might not like it if you take their blood.
Deliver Bounties Alive
Delivering prizes while living is one of the best tried and true ways to get a lot of honor in Red Dead Online. If you are new to being a bounty hunter, this might be harder, but soon enough, a strengthened rope or a jail wagon will make this job very easy.
It might be tempting to just shoot your target to stop them moving, but if you want to quickly boost your honor and get some cash and gold in the process, going the extra mile to bring in rewards alive will actually do that.
Never Waste Animals
If you’ve played Red Dead Online for any length of time, wolves are likely to have attacked you. You could run away, but you have to fight if your horse gets scared and bucks you.
Once everything is calm, skin all the animals. For making the most of your kills, you’ll get points. This also happens to the animals you hunt, but make sure you’re not just killing them for fun. Instead, skin them and sell their furs to stay efficient and honest.
Throw Back Fish
In Red Dead Online, fishing is a great thing to do that can help you become more honorable. Not only does it make you more money and improve your health, but throwing back smaller fish will also raise your honor.
People think it’s right to let them live and grow before pulling them out of the water again with a hook through the mouth. It looks like they have forgotten about the scary and painful tug-of-war you made them go through and have moved on.
Spare Hideout Leaders
It’s fun to clear out hideouts in Red Dead Online. You can either do it by yourself (if you think you’re brave enough) or get a group to help you.
After getting rid of all the bad guys, you have to decide whether to protect or kill the boss.
Apparently being honorable and being stupid are the same thing. If you let the boss live, they’ll probably start a new gang that you have to kill. Please be kind to them and give them a chance to make up for their sins.
This will help you get to a high level of honor in Survivor IO.
Train Clerk And Stranger Missions
On your map, there are little orange dots that show Train Clerk tasks and Stranger missions. You’ll be offered different jobs based on your current honor score.
There are some that will have you steal something and others that will have you return something (steal something back).
All of these tasks tell you how they’ll affect your honor before you accept them, so you can avoid any results you don’t want. These are pretty helpful because you’ll get some money for your work.
But be careful, some Strangers are tougher to find than others.
Play Nice With Others
You can do all of the above jobs by yourself, but it’s good manners to treat the other players in your game with care to boost your honor. Since being violent toward people in the town hurts your honor, hitting other players all the time can also make you look bad.
After your first kill, this won’t happen again, but you should still be careful about going on a killing spree. In addition, you can do story tasks online with other players, which can either raise or lower your honor score.
Pay The Gold Price
You can pay to have your honor level raised quickly if you don’t want to play the game or if you just want to get into story tasks that are blocked by an honor wall.
But be aware that it costs a lot. Raising your honor costs three gold bars and can be done at a number of shops spread out across the map. The one closest to Strawberry is the easiest to get to.
