If you tested five new things every month and just one out of the five was successful (if you use our monthly teaching strategies it’s more likely to be four out of five) then at the end of a year you would have twelve new proven teaching strategies to add to your mix. So testing and measuring all of your teaching is the first golden rule for motivating learners.
Frindle, Andrew Clements:Nick Allen once again gets his teacher upset and she assigns him to do an extra report on how new words are added to the dictionary. Suddenly this triggers the best idea ever for Nick. He coins his own new word “frindle.” His new word annoys his teacher mightily. The war of words escalates–resulting in after-school detention, a home visit from the principal, national publicity, even money-making for local entrepreneurs, and, finally, the addition of frindle in the dictionary. Amazing!

European dance students begin their studies in the back and earn the position to be up front. If you feel confident and can take the lead. then do so. If you are a beginner than do not be in the front. Stay behind people that you can follow. Check out and see what is appropriate to wear to the class or function.

That means you need to have a friendly demeanour. Tell your class when and where you are available to see them about any issues they have and help they need.

The spring water for the baths are from the property. Esselen Indians use to bathe in these waters hundreds of years ago. The water from the natural hot springs are pumped up from below the ground and are considered healing. I’ve seen people drink the water even though it has a slight smell like sulfur. Strangely as a kid when I use to melt sulfur and other stuff from my chemistry set I use to always get a cold after accidentally inhaling the fumes. But here I have only had good experiences at the baths — no side effects at all from the sulfer, people even drink this water for health (I tried it twice).
