Metacritic Rating 93

One of the best multiplayer games on the PlayStation 5 is Tetris Effect: Connected. With this in mind, it’s simple to see why the developers chose to include PSVR 2 support, although the ultimate product will certainly surprise many. It’s one of the platform’s most unique experiences, with the sounds and visuals blending flawlessly with the gameplay to satisfy the player’s senses.

It can be quite calming at times, and extremely hectic at others, but it’s usually always a lot of fun. The breathtaking sceneries that cycle past as players clear more and more lines, as well as the haptic sensation from the PSVR 2 headset, only add to the experience. It’s simply a shame Enhance Games didn’t provide a legitimate upgrade option for those who already own the PS4 version of the game via PS Plus Extra.

Metacritic Rating 85

Moss was one of the highlight titles on the original PSVR when it was released in early 2018. Five years later, the game’s PSVR 2 edition is just as engaging, if not more so, with improved visuals and tighter controls helping to breathe new life into this endearing adventure puzzle game. Despite this, the game is still quite short, with players able to finish it in under ten hours.

The good news is that Moss: Book II is already a sequel to the game. The 2022 release, like its predecessor, received an improved version for the PSVR 2, ensuring that players can experience the entirety of Quill’s adventure on Sony’s latest technology. Both games have won and been nominated for multiple accolades, with the sequel taking Best VR/AR Game at the 2022 Game accolades after the original was nominated in 2018.

Release Date February 22, 2023
Metacritic Rating 79

Horizon Call of the Mountain is the game that most PSVR 2 owners will play to show their friends and family the platform’s remarkable potential. The gameplay is simple and effective in demonstrating the capabilities of the PSVR 2 and its Sense controllers. Everything else looks great, too, from the wonderfully produced scenery to the individuals with whom the player interacts.

Some may dismiss Horizon Call of the Mountain as nothing more than a glorified tech demo, and although this is probably the game’s primary aim, there’s still a lot of fun to be had. Granted, it’s unlikely that players would want to return to it after finishing it, and the climbing mechanics can be jarring at times, but it’s still a must-play title for any PSVR 2 users, particularly those who are lovers of the Horizon franchise.

Resident Evil Village
Developer Capcom

Release Date May 7, 2021
Metacritic Rating 84

Capcom has always been a fervent promoter of innovation. As proven by the studio’s robust support of the Sega Dreamcast around the turn of the century. This is true once more in the area of virtual reality, with the Japanese company now adding VR functionality to numerous of its Resident Evil titles. Resident Evil 7 was easily one of the best PSVR titles, so it’s no wonder that the game’s sequel has been a huge smash on the PSVR 2.

Resident Evil Village is horrifying enough in third person. But the game’s VR functionality takes things to a whole new level. From start to end, the game is drenched with atmosphere and should be capable of terrifying even the most seasoned horror game aficionados. It’s an unforgettable experience that every PSVR 2 owner owes it to themselves to attempt at least once.

Pistol Whip

Pistol Whip
Developer Cloudhead Games
Publisher Cloudhead Games
Release Date February 22, 2023
Metacritic Rating 90

Since its initial release in late 2019, the FPS rhythm game Pistol Whip has been a popular choice among VR enthusiasts. The PSVR 2 edition of Geometry Dash Subzero game, on the other hand, takes things to a whole new level, with the significantly improved Sense controllers helping to iron out some of the game’s major flaws. This time around, there’s a lot more content to choose from, with the PS5 version practically functioning as a complete edition.

As far as combat-based rhythm games go, it doesn’t get much better than this. The highly stylized and brightly coloured aesthetics of the game are ideal for VR, sending players into a crazy world of hastily fired-off rhythms and bullets. Overall, it’s a truly one-of-a-kind experience that’s as addictive as it is entertaining. It’s also incredibly replayable, making this a title worth checking out even if you’ve already played the original.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7
Developer Polyphony Digital
Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment
Release Date March 4, 2022
Metacritic Rating 87

Gran Turismo 7 exemplifies how VR compatibility can dramatically modify a non-VR game. The ability to sit in the driver’s seat and check the mirrors with a quick glance rather than a button press makes the entire experience much more immersive, and while the lack of Sense controller support hurts the game’s authenticity slightly, those who truly care about realism will most likely be playing with a steering wheel and pedals anyway.

Driving around at night is really enjoyable, because it showcases the game’s amazing lighting effects. The fireworks on the Alsace track are particularly spectacular, but that doesn’t mean the daytime experience isn’t equally impressive. The VR showroom, on the other hand, allows players to get a better look at all of the automobiles in their collection, both inside and out. Gran Turismo 7 may not have started out as a VR game. But it’s the subtle elements that make it the best game on the PSVR 2. And if you want to watch movies or the most popular matches in your free time, then definitely check out this pikachu app.
