There are some great exploration challenges in Hogwarts Legacy, and each one has its own rewards. But which exploration challenge is the best?
There are many ways to track your progress in Hogwarts Legacy. Challenges are the most important of these, and when you finish them, you can get rewards. There are five types of challenges: combat, quests, exploring, field guide pages, and the Room of Requirement.
There are six different challenges in the Exploration Challenges category that encourage players to explore both Hogwarts and the Scottish Highlands around it. Each challenge has many checkpoints that give players some of the best rewards in Hogwarts Legacy, like unique brooms and outfits.
Landing Platforms
When players see a Landing Platform for the first time and land on it to see what it is, they will be a little disappointed to find that it’s just a place to land. But as players explore more of the beautiful map, they will find that it gets harder to find these platforms, which makes the challenge more fun.
There are twenty Landing Platforms in Hogwarts Legacy. The best way to find them all is by riding a broom or one of the other magical mounts. Even though this Exploration Challenge isn’t the most interesting, it does encourage natural exploration and gives players pieces of a Quidditch captain’s outfit as a reward.
Complete Merlin Trials
Finishing all 95 Merlin Trials takes the most time out of all the Exploration Challenges, simply because there are so many of them. At first, these puzzles are fun, and the fact that you have to use different spells gives them a good amount of variety. However, they quickly get boring.
For completing each level of the Complete Merlin Trials challenge, a player’s gear storage will grow by four slots. This means that they can carry more gear at once before they have to go to a vendor to sell it. The Merlin Trials, on the other hand, can’t be started until some Mallowsweet Leaves are put down. This means that players should always make sure they have enough supplies before heading out on their travels. Players can get more Mallowsweet Leaves by growing them themselves or buying them from merchants.
Collect Ancient Magic Traces
Ancient magic is the rare power that the main character has, and it is important to the main story. Players can find traces of Ancient Magic all over the map to add more bars to their Ancient Magic meters and kill more enemies.
There are a total of twenty of these Ancient Magic hotspots, and most of them are in old ruins. Each hotspot has its own puzzle, and players have to find their way through the ruins to find each trace of Ancient Magic. Some are harder to find than others. This is one of the more fun Exploration Challenges because each place is different.
Find Astronomy Tables
Even though players can find astronomy tables at the start of the game. They can’t look at the stars until they take an astronomy class and get a telescope from their friend Amit Thakkar. They will also have to wait until nighttime. Which they can do in the map menu if it is still daytime.
Astronomy is one of the most fun things to do in the game once there is enough darkness and telescopes are set up. This may come as a pleasant surprise to players. Players have to line up their view of the stars with the constellation they’re looking for by zooming in and out and turning their telescope. Players are given parts of the Starry-Eyed Seer’s outfit set when they find and finish Astronomy tables.
Solve Hogwarts Secrets
People know that Hogwarts has a lot of mysteries and secrets. But only three of them count toward the Solve Hogwarts Secrets challenge. Some of the best puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy can be found at the Viaduct Courtyard Bridge and in the Clock Tower, where the first two secrets are.
To find out the last secret, however, players must go to The Polyjuice Plot quest and finish it. There, they will find a key that opens the door to one of the castle’s most secret rooms. This challenge is fun in and of itself, but it also gives players two of the best outfits in Slope Game: Professor Black’s Tailored Tailcoat and the Fashionable Dress Robes, the latter of which a certain Ronald Weasley will be forced to wear to the Yule Ball over a hundred years later.
Pop Balloons
Exploration Challenges are fun, but popping balloons is by far the most fun. Because players get to fly around the beautiful Scottish Highlands on their brooms or other mounts. Each set has five balloons that count as progress toward the challenge when they are popped.
Trying to pop all five balloons in a single run is a lot of fun, but if that isn’t enough. The rewards you can get from completing this challenge make it more than worth your time. There are four levels of the Pop Balloons challenge, and each one gives players some of the best-looking brooms in Hogwarts Legacy.
Now, you can play Hogwarts Legacy on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. Versions for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch are being made right now.
