The all-new 2023 Hyundai Kona EV – the final variant of the Kona range – will make its global debut at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show next month.
The second-generation Hyundai Kona was first presented to the public online in December 2022. three engine options have been announced for Korea – 198 PS/265 Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged T-GDi, 149 PS / 180 Nm 2.0-litre naturally aspirated, and 1.6-litre naturally aspirated hybrid that makes 141 PS / 265 Nm.
Details of the battery EV variant will only be announced in the days leading to the Seoul Mobility Show’s opening day on 30-March.
Hyundai says the hybrid will make up 40 percent of the Kona’s total sales in Korea.
It’s been 3 years since sales of the Hyundai Kona EV was suspended in 2020, following a spate of fires involving the model’s battery. The facelift model, the one that was launched in Malaysia, was never sold in Korea.
